Customizable Allergy Card
Purchase a customizable allergy card for display in your child’s classroom. $5
I created a flyer/card of sorts for display in my daughter’s classroom. I didn’t want to put so much information that no one would read it. But I wanted to put enough info there so that anyone visiting the classroom, especially substitute teachers, can quickly see that they need to take care with my daughter.
As a former teacher, I understand how hard it can be to pass off important information to a substitute or specialist. No one’s fault - that’s just the way it is.
Some ideas of where to put this card:
In the substitute folder/binder
Taped to your child’s desk
Near the doorway of your child’s classroom so anyone entering can see.
Near high-traffic areas like on the wall where students have their morning meeting
In the cafeteria
For a child with self-advocacy skills, it can be helpful to have this card displayed so that our own children can direct a new teacher’s attention to let them know about the allergy situation.
Specifics:
The dimensions of the allergy card are 8.5” x 5.5” (a half-sheet) centered on one paper.
If the information on your card requires more space, then it will be longer. (8.5” x 6” or 7”, for example).
